Medaka Box

0 comments

This manga is by Nishio Ishin and illustrated by Akatsuki akira.
It revolves around this girl with extraordinary... talents.. She becomes the student counsel president of her high school. An unheard of feet not only because she won a 98% approval rating from the student body but also because shes only in the first year. Her being the perfectionist that she is, she decided that unless the other members were people she approved of, she was going to shoulder all the responsibilities of the counsel. Her first action as president was the Establishment of the suggestion box. Having promised that she was going to answer all request no matter how small or big, made sure the box was always full. In the chaos of all the requests, she drags along her childhood friend ,who is head over heels in love with her, along for the ride.

The requests themselves make for very funny situations between her and her childhood friend but I find the unraveling of their, very obvious, mutual love for each other just as interesting.

Its definitly one of those mangas that I'll be keeping track of.
A good read, good illustrations and the scan quality, translation and cleaning are good HERE...
(But that's an endorsement for the current scans. I can't really say what the future scans will turn out to be. )

Manga ambition

I actually attempted to make mangas once. I already wrote a lot of stories but my biggest problem was how to draw the art. I drew, occasionally, but never anything that I deemed usable for a manga. In my desperation I even resorted to searching online for drawing tips. I was lucky enough to find THIS site. I tried its tips and I made some very manga-like cartoons. But my procrastination and undeniable laziness caught up with me.

In the end I wasn't even able to illustrate one comic strip. I guess I'll stick to reading mangas for now while I look for an illustrator for my stories.

I wasn't a fan of basketball mangas before. Most of the ones I saw were badly drawn and the story pointlessly dragged on. This one is different.. :)
summary and where to read it HERE...

I liked who they drew the motions and who they set the games up. The story is also good because it didn't exaggerate the sport and make it have fictional moves.. I play a little basketball so I'm very critical sometimes when it comes to this things. Sure I'm supposed to completely resign myself in the fiction of certain stories but there is something about inhuman moves described in some basketball mangas that just don't sit well with me. But truthfully even if they did make out exaggerated moves, if the manga was well drawn and the story worth reading till the end, then I probably won't mind reading the uber fictional ones..

If your looking for a complicated love story in the midst of murder, conspiracy, deceit and countless assassination plots then this is the series for you... ;}
Found here..

Its centers around a male Japanese tourist who witnessed an assassination taking place. The assassin turned out to be a Japanese girl who looked no older than himself. In his shock he was captured and brainwashed. In his state of amnesia he was forced into becoming an assassin himself. From then on the story progresses through his training all the way to him going on actual missions. I have yet to continue watching because of time constraints but its definitely worth seeing till the end...

I was lucky enough to see this when it was freshly added to animeseason's anime list...
Its not that well drawn, sometimes during the episodes they have moments where the art is so beautiful and then there are times when its almost blocky.. very inconsistent.. they make up for it in the consistently cute male characters though... :} the story is so-so but one of the unique ones out there... its entertaining enough for a revisit..

I was frustrated when I couldn't find its manga counterpart in any of the sites I frequent... but you can get a brief summary here...
